¹这虔诚 的事 以后 ，亚述 王 西拿基立 来 侵入 犹大 ，围困 一切坚固 城 ，想要 攻破占据 。

¹After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.^a

²希西家 见 西拿基立 来 ，定意 要攻打 耶路撒冷 ，

²And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,^b

³就与首领 和勇士 商议 ，塞住 城 外 的泉源 ；他们就都帮助 他。

³He took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city: and they did help him.

⁴于是有许多 人 聚集 ，塞了 一切泉源 ，并通流 国 中 的小河 ，说 ：亚述 王 来 ，为何让他得着 许多 水 呢？

⁴So there was gathered much people together, who stopped all the fountains, and the brook that ran through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?^c

⁵希西家力图自强 ，就修筑 所有拆毁 的城墙 ，高 与城楼 相齐；在城外 又 筑一城 ，坚固 大卫 城 的米罗 ，制造了 许多 军器 、盾牌 ；

⁵Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.^d

⁸With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.^f

⁹此后 ，亚述 王 西拿基立 和他的全军 攻打拉吉 ，就差遣 臣仆 到耶路撒冷 见犹大 王 希西家 和一切在耶路撒冷 的犹大人 ，说 ：

⁹ ¶ After this did Sennacherib king of Assyria send his servants to Jerusalem, (but he himself laid siege against Lachish, and all his power with him,) unto Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that were at Jerusalem, saying,^g

¹⁰亚述 王 西拿基立 如此说 ：你们倚靠 甚么，还在耶路撒冷 受困 呢？

¹⁰Thus saith Sennacherib king of Assyria, Whereon do ye trust, that ye abide in the siege in Jerusalem?^h

¹¹希西家 对你们说 耶和华 ―我们的神 必救我们脱离 亚述 王 的手 ，这不是诱惑 你们，使 你们受饥 渴 而死 么？

¹¹Doth not Hezekiah persuade you to give over yourselves to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

¹²这希西家 岂不是废去 耶和华的邱坛 和祭坛 ，吩咐 犹大 与耶路撒冷 的人说 你们当在一个 坛 前 敬拜 ，在其上烧香 么？

¹²Hath not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar, and burn incense upon it?

¹³我与我列祖 向列邦 所行 的，你们岂不知道 么？列邦 的神 何尝 能 救自己的国 脱离 我手 呢？

¹³Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of other lands? were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand?

¹⁴我列祖 所灭 的国 ，那些神 中谁能 救自己的民 脱离 我手 呢？难道你们的神 能 救你们脱离 我手 么？

¹⁴Who was there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of mine hand?

¹⁵所以你们不要 叫希西家 这样欺哄 诱惑 你们，也不要信 他；因为没有一国 一邦 的神 能 救自己的民 脱离 我手 和我列祖 的手 ，何况你们的神 更不能救你们脱离 我的手 。

¹⁵Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you on this manner, neither yet believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of mine hand?

¹⁶西拿基立的臣仆 还有别的话 毁谤耶和华 神 和他仆人 希西家 。

¹⁶And his servants spake yet more against the LORD God, and against his servant Hezekiah.

¹⁷西拿基立也写 信 毁谤 耶和华 ―以色列 的神 说 ：列邦 的神 既不能救他的民 脱离 我手 ，希西家 的神 也不能救他的民 脱离 我手 了。

¹⁷He wrote also letters to rail on the LORD God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand.

¹⁸亚述 王的臣仆用犹大言语 向耶路撒冷 城上 的民 大 声 呼叫 ，要惊吓 他们，扰乱 他们，以便取 城 。

¹⁸Then they cried with a loud voice in the Jews' speech unto the people of Jerusalem that were on the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city.

¹⁹他们论 耶路撒冷 的神 ，如同论世上 人 手 所造 的神 一样。

¹⁹And they spake against the God of Jerusalem, as against the gods of the people of the earth, which were the work of the hands of man.

²⁰希西家 王 和亚摩斯 的儿子 先知 以赛亚 因此祷告 ，向天 呼求 。

²⁰And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.

²¹耶和华 就差遣 一个使者 进入亚述 王 营 中，把所有大能的 勇士 和官长 、将帅 尽都灭了 。亚述王满面 含羞 地回到 本国 ，进了 他神 的庙 中，有他亲生的儿子 在那里用刀 杀了 他。

²¹ ¶ And the LORD sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword.ⁱ

²²这样，耶和华 救 希西家 和耶路撒冷 的居民 脱离亚述 王 西拿基立 的手 ，也脱离一切仇敌的手 ，又赐他们四境 平安 。

²²Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all other, and guided them on every side.

²³有许多人 到耶路撒冷 ，将 供物 献与耶和华 ，又将宝物 送给犹大 王 希西家 。此后 ，希西家在列邦人 的眼中 看为尊大 。

²³And many brought gifts unto the LORD to Jerusalem, and presents to Hezekiah king of Judah: so that he was magnified in the sight of all nations from thenceforth.^j

²⁴那时希西家 病 得要死 ，就祷告 耶和华 ，耶和华 应允 他，赐 他一个兆头 。

²⁴ ¶ In those days Hezekiah was sick to the death, and prayed unto the LORD: and he spake unto him, and he gave him a sign.^k

²⁵希西家 却没有照他所蒙的恩 报答 耶和华 ；因他心里 骄傲，所以忿怒 要临到他和犹大 并耶路撒冷 。

²⁵But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

²⁶但希西家 和耶路撒冷 的居民 觉得心里 骄傲 ，就一同自卑 ，以致耶和华 的忿怒 在希西家 的日子 没有临到 他们。

²⁶Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.^l

²⁷希西家 大有 尊荣 赀财 ，建造 府库 ，收藏金 银 、宝 石 、香料 、盾牌 ，和各样的宝 器 ，

²⁷ ¶ And Hezekiah had exceeding much riches and honour: and he made himself treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all manner of pleasant jewels;^m

²⁸又建造仓房 ，收藏五榖 、新酒 ，和油 ，又为各类牲畜 盖棚 立圈 ；

²⁸Storehouses also for the increase of corn, and wine, and oil; and stalls for all manner of beasts, and cotes for flocks.

²⁹并且建立 城邑 ，还有许多的 羊 群 牛群 ，因为神 赐 他极 多 的财产 。

²⁹Moreover he provided him cities, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance: for God had given him substance very much.

³⁰这希西家 也塞住 基训 的上 源 ，引水直 下 ，流在大卫 城 的西边 。希西家 所行的事 尽都亨通 。

³⁰This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper watercourse of Gihon, and brought it straight down to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all his works.

³¹唯有一件事 ，就是巴比伦 王 差遣 使者 来见希西家，访问 国中 所现的奇事 ；这件事神 离开 他，要试验 他，好知道 他心 内如何。

³¹ ¶ Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.ⁿ

³²希西家 其余的 事 和他的善行 都写在 亚摩斯 的儿子 先知 以赛亚 的默示 书上和犹大 、以色列 的诸王 记 上。

³² ¶ Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his goodness, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, and in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.^o

³³希西家 与他列祖 同睡 ，葬在 大卫 子孙 的高 陵 上。他死 的时候，犹大人 和耶路撒冷 的居民 都尊敬 他。他儿子 玛拿西 接续他作王 。

³³And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the chiefest of the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honour at his death. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.^p
